The FAT Ride: Nowa Nowa to Orbost
in conjunction with the East Gippsland Winter Festival
Gear up for an extraordinary adventure with "The FAT Ride: Nowa Nowa to Orbost." This rail trail ride offers a unique blend of Food, Art, and Tunes, creating an unforgettable experience.
Starting in Nowa Nowa, riders will cruise along the picturesque East Gippsland Rail Trail, aiming to reach Orbost in time for the remarkable performance of C.W. Stoneking & His Primitive Horn Orchestra at Deep in the Weeds, hosted by Sailors Grave Brewing (please note that tickets to Deep in the Weeds must be purchased separately and are selling fast).
The leisurely 40.5km (approx) ride is suitable for any bike, and along the way, riders will be treated to refreshments and tunes at the start, halfway point, and the finish. Fuel up before the ride at Nowa Nowa with delectable wood-fired pizzas from Stuart at The Local Metung. The Moto Bella crew will add to the atmosphere with their 1968 Vespa, complete with a custom DJ Booth Sidecar, setting the perfect vibe for the journey.
The ride will kick off at 12:00 noon for those who prefer a leisurely pace, while speed demons can wait a bit to ensure a collective arrival in Orbost around 3pm. Enjoy refreshments at Partelli's Crossing, approximately halfway along the trail, and at Forest Park in Orbost as you cross the finish line, all prepared by The Local Metung.
Be prepared for artistic surprises along the way, as the trail promises encounters with captivating Wild Art installations. Immerse yourself in the creative spirit of the region.
On Sunday, June 11th, Snowy River Cycling can conveniently transport you and your bike back to Nowa Nowa (additional costs apply).
