Celebrate the beauty of Spring at Nyerimilang Heritage Park with a day full of fun and family-friendly activities! Nestled just a short drive from Lakes Entrance, this event offers a wonderful mix of creativity, history, and nature for all ages.
Event Highlights:
🎨 Children’s Art Classes: Let your little ones create their own masks, inspired by May Gibbs’ famous characters, "The Banksia Men". Classes for ages 4-7 and 8-12. Bookings essential – contact Rosie Bronca at 0411 720 374.
🎶 Live Music: Be serenaded by the delightful voices of the “Alley Cats” choir.
🍽️ Delicious Treats: Enjoy sizzling sausages, sandwiches, and homemade biscuits. Plus, try traditional billy tea and damper by the campfire, courtesy of Jan, Julie, and the team!
⚒️ Blacksmith Demonstrations: Watch “Bill the Blacksmith” in action at the pioneer area and get a glimpse into the past.
🐑 Wool Room: Meet Alyson and learn about the fascinating arts of spinning and weaving.
🏡 Heritage Exploration: Tour the pioneer cottage, see old farm tools and a Bullock Dray, and admire the restoration efforts in the East Gippsland Garden.
📚 History and Books: Visit the Homestead Library for history displays and browse the second-hand book stall for some hidden gems.
🌳 Scenic Walks: Stroll along the picturesque cliff-top walking tracks and take in breathtaking views of the landscape.
Entry Fee: A suggested donation of $5 per adult, with all proceeds assisting in the maintenance of the park and its historic buildings.
