Lakes Lights

📢 Exciting news for all Beachcomber Holiday Units visitors! Get ready to witness the mesmerizing LAKES LIGHTS event, back by popular demand on Saturday 1 July. This one-night-only extravaganza is the highlight of the East Gippsland Winter Festival and promises to be an unforgettable experience for all who attend.

Join us for a magical evening starting with a community lantern parade across the iconic Lakes Entrance Footbridge. The parade will lead you to a stunning showcase of artist-made lanterns, art installations, and captivating lighting projections. Prepare to be amazed as the small stretch of land between the Gippsland Lakes and the 90 Mile Beach transforms into a wonderland of light and color.

This event is perfect for families seeking a mid-winter getaway during the school holidays, as there are several other exciting events on the EGWF Program to enjoy. Lakes Lights will take place on the Foreshore in Lakes Entrance, just across the road from Beachcomber Holiday Units.

🌟 UPDATE: We have some important information for all Lakes Lights attendees! The event will feature a fantastic music lineup including performances by Mike Elrington, Charlie Needs Braces, Mick Harrington, and the 15-piece roving festival band Invy Horn Jam. You won't want to miss the incredible sounds and vibes!

In addition, indulge in the winter foreshore market offering a wide array of warming food options. You can also explore the eateries along the Esplanade and Myer Street, which will be open late to satisfy your cravings.

The popular community lantern parade is back, with an expanded route this year. Everyone with a lantern (and an accompanying adult) can take part in the parade and be among the first to witness the magical display across the Footbridge. Don't forget to attend the free lantern making workshops beforehand (details on the EGWF Program) to create your very own lantern for the parade.

𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗘: To ensure the comfort and safety of all attendees, it is now required to book a (free) ticket to walk across the Footbridge and explore the lantern display and art installations. Entry times will start from 6:30pm, right after the parade, with 30-minute time slots until 8:30pm. Each time slot has a capacity limit to ensure accessibility and a delightful experience for all. Remember, once you're across the bridge, you can stay as long as you like.
